Sunday, Aug 22; Usequan

Ciclovia - there was a dog march while we walked up to Usequan. Have no idea what it was for, but there were lots of pooches walking in unison with people. Here we have men on stilts.

Jane holding Aryan. Along with Tyler.

The girls at the park. From left - Tianna, Mira, Michelle and Gabriella.

The latest couple in town. Andrew and Mira. Dancing to Bollywood music. Isn't this supposed to start in the teenage years? I getting more grey just thinking about what is yet to come.

Mira tying her brother a 'rakhi' - a sacred thread. This is a revered festival in India which symbolizes the love between a brother and sister. By tying this thread on his wrist, the sister requests that the brother protect her as long as he lives - he promises to do so and also gives her a token gift. She places a 'tikka' (vermillion spot) on his forehead and gives him something sweet to eat. My sister tied me three - from her, from my oler sister and from my cousin sister in India. This is an important day back home.
